Our Red Willow Cabernet Franc is blended with a healthy dose of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. While we love both varietals individually, we felt that this blend was greater than the sum of its parts. Having a couple years of working with Red Willow fruit under our belts, we decided to use a gentle oak profile, with no new oak barrels and three-quarters of them twice used or older. This is because Cab Franc tends to be lean, spicy, herbal and elegant which can too easily be overpowered by lots of new oak.
