Tasting notes
The 2025 Chillable Red opens with bright aromatics of red cherry, pomegranate, and fresh raspberry, lifted by hints of violet and soft spice. Pressing the Syrah immediately after harvest kept the color pale and the profile vibrant, preserving a sense of freshness that shows clearly in the glass.
On the palate, the wine is juicy and refreshing, with red berry fruit, gentle spice, and a clean mineral line from the Mother Block site. Stainless‑steel aging maintains clarity and lift, while the natural ripeness of the vintage adds a smooth, rounded texture. Served chilled, the wine becomes even more focused and lively.
Production notes
This wine was harvested with the intention of creating a chillable red rather than a rosé. The fruit came in later in the season with higher sugars and lower acidity than ideal for rosé, so the decision was made at harvest to press immediately and craft a light, stainless‑steel‑aged red. The result is a fresh, fruit‑driven expression of Red Mountain Syrah made in a new style for the winery.

The Mother Block Vineyard has been a source for many delicious wines over the Hightower Years – our Murray Syrah since 2007, our Murray Rosé and Hightower Grenache since 2021, and now our first ever Chillable Red in the 2025 vintage. The site is located just 5 acres to the West of us on Red Mountain and lovingly tended to by Tim’s Mom, Jackie Hightower.
A bright, refreshing Syrah designed to be enjoyed with a chill. Light in body, expressive in fruit, and clean on the finish, it is an easy companion for warm days, casual meals, and relaxed gatherings.

Tim & Kelly Hightower
Tim and Kelly Hightower founded Hightower Cellars in 1997 in Woodinville, Washington with a simple philosophy: "Get the best grapes and don't screw them up." With their grape supply primarily coming from Red Mountain, the husband and wife co-winemaking team set out to make high quality wine, beginning with their first vintage: 221 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Today Tim and Kelly aim to make wine that lets the powerful, concentrated fruit from Red Mountain speak for itself, producing wine with great character, that’s naturally beautiful and free from pretense. The result is a collection of well-balanced, nuanced wines that reveal something new and interesting each time you open a bottle. We like to think they’re wines with character through and through – in how they were made, how they taste, and in the connections they inspire.
